The projects that we support are working towards sustainably improving the lives of orphans and other vulnerable or underprivileged children. The main focus of this charity is therefore in the education sector. The idea of Raise a Smile came about during the time spent in Zambia by some of our founding members when they saw various projects with lots of potential to succeed but without the necessary funding to achieve that potential.

We are a small non-proffit charity organisation made up entirely of volunteers and with NO administration costs to pay. Therefore, every single Pound, Euro or Dollar that you donate to Raise a Smile goes directly to our projects and therefore the people who need it most(except for a small amount of bank/paypal fee's).

Currently we only support existing projects, however, our long term plan is to set up a project of our own. This project will include a school with an integrated orphanage in Zambia. Often in developing countries such as Zambia schools attended by poor children have a considerably lower standard of education than those attended by the children of rich families. With this project we hope to offer underprivileged children a better chance in life by providing an education that does much more than just teaching them basic reading, writing and arithmetic. You can find out more about this project by visiting the projects page and going to the Muzanga School Project.

Raise a Smile volunteers make regular trips to Zambia (at their own expense) to ensure all donations are spent wisely and so we can have an up to date picture of what is happening.

We also visit schools in Germany to raise awareness about children in developing countries and to run competitions and fundraising events.

Aid and Assistance

Group for Zambian Aid and Zambian Assistance.

Bridget Mutwale-Wint

Bridget Mutwale-Wint was born and raised in Kasempa. She received Christ as her Savior at age 15 while attending Mukinge Girl’s Secondary School; later she went on to become a science teacher there. As God’s plan and purposes for her life unfolded, she was blessed to receive a valuable biblical education. She has earned degrees from Bible Institute of South Africa and Philadelphia Biblical University USA. In 2000, the Lord brought her and Pastor Ron Wint together in marriage, an answer to both of their prayers. In 2003, they founded Lumba Christian Ministries in Kasempa, a ministry focused on spreading the Gospel and showing grace. Writing Christian Praise songs is another ministry they are blessed to be involved in. Bridget, as a gifted singer, has several CD’s to her credit, including Shadow of the Almighty, Pick Me Up Lord, and Heart of Praise.
