Zambian Art, Zambian Culture, Zambian Tradition and Zambian Fashion Gallery
The art, sculpture and craft industry are relatively well developed. Even though the number of artists is not very high Zambia has some well known artists including Enock Ilungu, Geoffrey Seti, Linda Chandia, Mulenga Chafilwa, Stephan Kapata, Sylvia Mwando, Victor Makashi and William Mikko. The sculpture industry in the country is predominantly dominated by Flinto Chandia and Friday Tembo who have definitely helped pioneer and carve a definite image for Zambian sculptures on the world wide market. In fact, the various museums in Zambia help illustrate the evolution of art and sculpture in Zambia. For anyone currently in Zambia, the following is a list of museums in Lusaka:

hello, i am a British artist from England who wants to visit Zambia as part of an application for the Commonwealth International Artists Residencies. I was born in Luanysha but left when i was only one years old. I have longed to return to explore and seek inspiration in the place of my birth as it has remained only a distant name in my identity. As part of this application I will need to give some names of places and people I can meet. I hope that you can help me with this. I am interested in meeting sculptors/artists museums and galleries and discussing my interests and approach to work. I can offer lectures, workshops for schools or colleges as well as good company for fellow artists and new friends. I look forward to hearing from you. kind regards Pete
Hi, i had an entire semester last year to concetrate on Zambian art, culture and architecture. My professor really showed some concern on how we could try to keep this going, but we lacked the time. Now am done with school and would not mind seeing that these topics continue being published here in zambia. What i can offer are findings and observations on what the situation is like now. I dont have much info on the historic part...
Good post, but have you thought about Art and Culture in Zambia before?
There is a wide range of artists countrywide. Many artists are actually diverse in their styles. The only problem I have noticed about Zambian art is that a few individuals want to monopolize the style and trend that determine Zambian art. Art generally is international so this thing of saying there is a definite type of Zambian art is an illusion. So whenever you visit Zambia please do know that there is a deep profound variety of art you can choose from. Historically Zambia has seventy two tribes and these have their own style of art and culture, hence not only a couple of artists can represent all this, but many.
you suck!!!!!!!
