Kilambe still has thoughts of returning to SA

Zambian striker Rotson Kilambe says he is relieved to be back and enjoying his football in his native land with Power Dynamos after experiencing a depressing spell on the sidelines at Kaizer Chiefs last year.

The burly striker has scored five goals in eight games for his new club that is currently in mid-table.

“I rejoined Power Dynamos in February prior to the start of the new season and have enjoyed my stay here so far.

“Football is my job and so whenever I am playing like I am doing now I have reason to be happy. I have also managed to stay injury free since I have been here which is something I am hoping will continue forever,” says Kilambe while admitting he still has thoughts of returning to South Africa.

“If an offer comes my way then I will certainly be returning. I do know that my club will have no qualms about releasing me even if it is during the season, though I have a deal that runs up to the end of the year.

“But for now I am concentrating on my current job and working on scoring as many goals as possible,” Kilambe tells KickOff.com.

However, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic striker remains conditionally attached to Chiefs up to the end of June.

“Chiefs did give me my release but the clause that says any international team interested in me should pay Chiefs US$100 000 is still valid. But I am not so much worried about that for now because it will all expire at the end of June,” he says.

Kilambe had his contract with Chiefs terminated during the off-season after he was deemed excess to requirements.

He had spent an injury-ravaged nine-month spell at Naturena during which he, however, scored the winner in the SAA Supa8 victory over Supersport United.
