Buffaloes, Warriors Storm into Charity Finals

Green Buffaloes have beaten Lusaka arch rivals Red Arrows by 1-0 in the Semifinals of the Samuel "zoom" Ndholovu Charity Shield played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

The only goal of the match came 11 minutes into the first interval of extra-time through Morgan Hanjema after a great ran into the box to slot in a shot. Both Arrows and Buffaloes wasted a number of chances in the match.

Goodson Kachinga had his first shot on target early in the first but his effort was saved by Mike Poto with little difficulties. Arrows failed to take advantage of Buffaloes defence which looked to be a bit porous throughout the game.

just 20 minutes into the first half Dears Kakunta Was brought for Price Mubita after sustaining an injury. Kankunta's substitute proved to be effective especially that the tempo of the game looked to have changed.

Sebastian Mwansa had his shot gone wide after a pass from Hanjema in the 29th minute. Mwansa who seemed to be lost in the Buffaloes mifield was subsitituted for Brian Chilando. Reuben Tembo had a great game though he was a bit slow in attack.
Victor Lupiya had a chance to put Arrows in front in the 32nd minute but his efforts were put to waste. Simon Lupiya also wasted a number of chances for Arrows in the game.

Red Arrows' Laurence Pondani looked composed in the midfield and took control of the match from the start. Buffaloes played a more defensive game especially in the midfield where they had Newa Mwewa, Sebastian Mwansa and Sekelani Mwale.
With 113 minutes into the match, Sustitute Chisi Mbewe had an opportunity to put Arrows back into the game as they searched for the last minute equaliser only with the keeper to beat had his shot saved by the keeper and failed to make use of the rebound.
Oswald Kalamba was brought in for Brian Chilando in extra-time to re-inform Buffaloes attack. Chilando came in for Sebastian Mwansa early in the second half. Chilando
Both teams' perfomance was far much from convincing as the game started to be below average as they failed to create any clear-cut chances and also wasted a few which were created. Buffaloes wasted a number of chances, notably when Hanjema failed to find the target in an open goal after a rebound when his shot was blocked by the keeper on 96 minutes.

Green Buffaloes Coach George Lwandamina expressed confidende in his team ahead of the return leg match against Chipukizi of Zanzibar next weekend at Nkoloma Stadium. He said team should just work on their physical fitness as both teams looked tired in the extra-time.
In the other game played at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola Kabwe Worriors also booked a place in the final after beating Zesco United By 4-2 on post match penalties after a goalles draw.
