Frenchman Renard new Chipolopolo coach


The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) made the announcement at a news briefing in Lusaka on Wednesday morning.

He will fly into the country next week to complete formalities.

His first task is to prepare Chipolopolo for their World Cup and Nations Cup qualifying campaign.

Zambia face Togo and Swaziland, with their first match away in Lome.

He replaces Patrick Phiri, who's contract was not renewed after he took the team to the Nations Cup earlier this year.

Hervé Renard (born 30 September 1968 in Aix-les-Bains) is a French football manager and former player
Renard played for French sides AS Cannes, Stade de Vallauris and SC Draguignan in a playing career which lasted from 1983 to 1998.

Renard began his coaching career with SC Draguignan in 1999, leaving in 2001. He was Assistant at Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua from 2002 to 2003, and managed English side Cambridge United in 2004.[1] He became manager of AS Cherbourg in 2005, leaving them in 2007 to become Assistant to Claude Le Roy for the Ghana national side
