Man of the Match: Mwelwa Sakala

Skipper Hichani Himoonde fired his squad into the lead three minutes into the game from the spot and midfielder Cosmas Banda headed his side into a half time two-nil lead. Left back Mwelwa Sakala gave a man of the match performances setting up both goals after his shot was handled in the box and his cross was met by Banda.

After the break, Arrows skipper Kruger Mwansa pulled one back for the Arrows but could not inspire his team to retain their unbeaten run despite seeing his opposite number Hichani receive marching orders for his second bookable offence. Dynamos sat back and weathered the quiver of arrows that Arrows launched at them. National team and Lusaka Dynamos’ inspirational midfielder William Njobvu was a smiling presence in the stands as he watched his team mates take all three points and end a blossoming unbeaten run by the league leaders Arrows. Njobvu is nursing a knock on the knee and will be looking to return to action soon for the ‘Elite’ squad.

This was ‘HH’s second goal in his last three matches while Mwansa registered his third for the Campaign. The airmen are on a slump as they failed to register a win in their last four matches.

‘Sensational’ Chileshe silences ‘Kalampa’ fans
Zanaco (Kola, Kalengo, Kaindu) 3-1 Nkana (Nkhetani o.g)

A Jack Chileshe inspired performace prevented ‘Kalampa’ from withdrawing the three points from the Bankers at a packed Sunset Stadium. The 24 year old created two goals for ‘Sensational’ Zanaco as they beat crowd puller Nkana 3-1.
The game started at high tempo with Nkana displaying champagne football in the first five minutes and it wasn’t a surprise when Allan Mukuka’s teasing cross was turned into the goal by Kennedy Nkhetani.
The crowd roared and encouraged the Kitwe giants and at some point the home side looked in disarray but the calmness of Stophira Sunzu and creativity of Chileshe in the engine room got them back in the game.
The bankers almost leveled the scores in the 23rd minute when a double one two between Rodger Kola and Simon Silwimba resulted into a cross that saw jack Chileshe’s shot go wide. Zanaco’s redemption came in the 29th minute after Jack Chileshe beat three defenders and made a spectacular pass to find Kola in a no compromising state to slot home an equalizer. Zanaco would have doubled the score four minutes later but Chileshe’s thunderbolt hit the side of the net.
Kalampa tried to redeem themselves in the 38th minutes by substituting the not in form Gift Kampamba for Obrian Funga in a bid to strengthen the mid field..
Zanaco came back from halftime with full force and commanded most of the second half with Chileshe causing much of the damage in the midfield.
Winstone Kalengo doubled the lead in 53rd minute after being fed by the full form Chileshe from the right wing. Zanaco continued terrorizing the visitors in the 59th and 61st minutes when Silwimba’s shot hit the upright and Kola’s went inches above the cross bar respectively.
Kalengo
Zanaco sealed the day in the 83rd minute when super sub and coach/player Kelvin Kaindu sloted home a third after an impressive wing play by Kola released strike partner Kalengo who layed for his coach.
