We're recovering some posts from our old site and came across one of our 'Only in Zambia' pages. Here's one of the items we enjoyed reading contributed by an anonymous visitor:
Recently, something funny happened outside the Lusaka high court. The Judge somehow locked his car keys in his car and didn't know what to do. As he kept pacing around hopelessly, an idea suddenly struck him.
He had just finished "judging" some criminals and they were waiting in a truck, ready to go back to prison. He approached the truck and asked the convicts, "I've locked my keys in my mercedes. Is there anyone who can help me get them out?"
Suddenly, hands went up from all over the truck. The judge was convinced they didn't understand the question. Anyway, he decided to take one of them to the car to see if they knew what he was talking about.
It took the man only five seconds to open the Judge's car - without any set of keys - and the astonished judge got back into his car.
Unfortunately, he did not reduce the sentence for the kind man, being more convinced the man needed to stay in jail for a while.
